Senior Business/Commercial Loan Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Senior Commercial Loan Assistant provides direct support to the Business and Commercial Lending team in managing and maintaining the commercial loan portfolio. This role serves as a key point of contact for business members, assisting with the collection and organization of documentation for loan requests, annual reviews, renewals, and modifications. The Senior Commercial Loan Assistant also supports business members by responding to general inquiries, coordinating meetings and loan closings, and assisting with membership documentation. This position helps ensure an efficient, high-quality service experience for both existing and prospective business members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist Commercial and Business Lenders in identifying and prospecting current and potential members to generate new loan opportunities and deposit account relationships
• Assist lenders in preparing letters of intent to lend, letters of credit, and other required documentation as needed
• Ensure all received documents and information are accurately uploaded and maintained in the commercial loan system
• Order third-party appraisals, environmental reports, flood certifications, surveys, title searches, and other supporting documentation
• Submit completed appraisals and environmental reports to the Credit Administrator for review and verification of compliance with loan approvals and NCUA regulations, as needed
• Verify property taxes are current on prospective or renewal real estate collateral
• Obtain and verify required insurance and ensure all pre-closing conditions are satisfied prior to loan closing
• Verify that all business and commercial loans obtain required approvals and that all pre-closing conditions are satisfied
• Generate and prepare commercial loan documentation for closing in accordance with the approved Credit Approval Form, ensuring all required loan covenants are accurately included
• Coordinate and schedule loan closings with all appropriate parties
• Ensure loans in process are in the appropriate stage and all processing requirements are met
• Assist Commercial and Business Lenders with management of assigned member accounts as directed
• Maintain knowledge of branch operations by completing Deposit Regulation and Product and Service Certification courses
• Proactively demonstrate the TVFCU core values of integrity, honesty, flexibility, teamwork, leadership, accountability and strong relationships in every interaction with members
• Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma required; associate degree in a business-related field preferred. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education
• Minimum of ten (10) years of commercial lending experience required; experience with a real estate title company or related industry may be considered in lieu of direct lending experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Knowledge of commercial loan documentation, processes, and closing requirements
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with applicable regulations and compliance requirements required
• Knowledge of TVFCU loan systems preferred
