Position Purpose
The Supervisor, Warehouse Operations provides oversight and direction to the Nuclear Material Operations team for all material management and inspection activities at TVA’s nuclear plants. The supervisor will leverage broad Supply Chain and nuclear plant operational knowledge to support the execution of online, planned and forced outages, modifications and major projects.
Job Dimensions
Supervisory Responsibility — Manages up tp 20 represented employees, including Nuclear Material Handlers I & II and Foremen.
Budget Responsibility — $2.0 Million
Principal Accountabilities
Education — B.S. Degree, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Related Field or equivalent experience.
Experience — Five (5) or more years of professional experience with several years’ operating in the fields of supply chain, operations, work management and/or industrial environments. Managerial and utility experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities —Demonstrated managerial competencies such as leadership, planning/organizing, analysis, judgment, adaptability, interpersonal sensitivity, negotiation skills. Ability to lead technical, multi-disciplinary teams; proven ability to design and implement programs. Ability to influence and affect change at all levels. Comprehensive knowledge in areas such as supply chain management, maintenance, work management, accounting, finance and logistics. Must be highly motivated and skilled in communication (verbal and written) and have the ability to positively influence others at all levels. Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position/access requirements and essential job functions.

Principal Accountabilities
- Provide strategic direction and operational oversight of the material receipt, inspection, issuance and inventory management activities supporting TVA Nuclear’s execution of online, planned and forced outages and major projects.
- Manage and supervise all warehouse operations to ensure compliance with TVA Nuclear Quality Assurance Program (NQAP), and all Accounting, Financial, SOX and Supply Chain processes and procedures.
- Manage daily activities by establishing schedules, tracking progress and performing gap analysis and taking corrective actions, as necessary.
- Develop business cases and economic analysis for workforce staffing strategies, materials management and inventory decisions.
- Perform strategic analysis utilizing historical trends, market intelligence, benchmarking, strategic plans and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive organizational decisions and performance.
- Implement and maintain an in-storage preventive maintenance and shelf-life program to ensure that materials and equipment maintained in storage are protected from deterioration and degradation.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and business partners to ensure operational priorities are incorporated into operational schedules.
- Drive business transformations using continuous improvement methodologies to optimize supply chain performance with a specific focus on business continuity, repeatable and reproducible quality, and risk management and mitigation with a focus on cost savings.
- Support the continuous improvement of organizational performance and health by, among other things, mentoring Supply Chain personnel and business partners, providing honest, constructive feedback, and working with a positive attitude.
- Leverage technology and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Supply Chain, and support the continued development and enhancement of these tools through continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
- Ensure clear roles and responsibilities and alignment to TVA and Supply Chain for teams and provide opportunities for leadership growth through coaching, practicing skills, leading initiatives, and meaningful feedback.
- Demonstrate behaviors, leadership and coaching that cultivates a healthy safety conscious work environment.
- Act as the Material Operations’ Duty Representative, on a rotational basis, for after-hours operational requirements from plant personnel, other TVA sites and other utilities for materials and service requirements. As the Material Operations’ Duty Representative, the individual may be required to direct and coordinate after-hours support across Supply Chain.
- Support TVA’s Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) activities by serving as the primary point of contact (on a rotational basis), reporting to the site within a regulated timeframe, and executing on behalf of Supply Chain for drills and events.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
