Position Purpose
Supervise multi-skilled tritium-related craft activities at the nuclear site ensuring the managed activities are conducted in accordance with all applicable TVA policies, programs, and procedures; plant Technical Specifications; and Federal, State, and local regulations.
Job Dimensions
Supervisory Responsibility — two task managers, four RP/Operations personnel and up to 20 multi-skilled craft employees
Budget Responsibility — Various tritium related projects and contracts.
Principal Accountabilities
Supervise the activities of multi-disciplined, multi-skilled craft to ensure safe performance of tritium-related activities of the nuclear power plant and compliance with all license requirements.
Conduct observations, communicate and reinforce job expectations and providing coaching and feedback.
Manage the execution of a multi-skill maintenance organization work schedule, remove impediments to work schedule completion, obtain additional resources, materials, support, etc., needed to accomplish schedule. Review work-in-progress and documentation to ensure work methods, quality, multi- skill, support, work order planning, and progress are adequate. Initiate immediate corrective action and direct schedule refinement as needed.
Implement the corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, Technical Specification Surveillance instruction, and outage management programs for the assigned systems, equipment, and components in a multi-skill method. .
As assigned, prepare man-hour estimates, cost estimates, and implementation schedules for outage or non-outage maintenance activities utilizing the multi- skill concept improving work efficiencies.
Review the scope, cost, and schedule of the assigned project, and provide status and detailed input, with emphasis on early identification of problem areas.
Adhere to the Labor Agreements for exempt and non-exempt personnel, exercising fair and effective personnel actions and/or discipline.
Monitor and control work activities being performed by offsite or contract personnel ensuring compliance with site and regulatory requirements.
Provide approved contractor work release forms, prior to initiation of work, and control spending on each.
Supports, coordinates and provides guidance on training initiatives, daily outage and scheduling activities ensuring the concepts of multi-skilling are reinforced in development of these programs.
Provide recommendations for training requirements and qualification criteria for the assigned maintenance organization. Assess the adequacy of the developed training program and provide training services through observation of job performance. Provide recommendations for improvement as appropriate.
Maintain qualifications for and participate in assigned Emergency Preparedness planning and program execution.
Manage all activities within approved budget for the assigned organization.
Minimum Requirements
Education – Bachelor degree in engineering/technical discipline or equivalent related education, training and experience.
Experience – At least five years experience in nuclear plant modification, maintenance, design, operation, or quality assurance, with a minimum of two years supervisory experience in maintenance, modifications, or planning/technical activities.
Certification/License, etc. — Must obtain and maintain requirements for nuclear plant unescorted plant access.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Must possess a basic knowledge of engineering principles and knowledge of nuclear plant's design and construction.
