Ben Atchley Tennessee State Veterans Home is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) to join our team. **Primary Responsibilities**
Assist with lifting, turning, repositioning, and transferring residents in and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and mechanical lifts.
Provide daily physical and hygienic care as directed, including bathing, oral care, grooming, dressing, and assisting with hair care and shaving.
Maintain cleanliness and comfort for incontinent residents per facility policy.
Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions.
Make beds and replace linens when soiled.
Prepare residents for activities, social programs, and travel when needed.
Support residents during meals: prepare, deliver trays, assist with feeding, and record/report food intake; provide snacks and nourishments between meals.
**Resident Monitoring and Documentation**
Communicate resident status and condition to the charge nurse at the start and end of each shift.
Accurately maintain records and flow sheets.
Measure and document vital signs and weights as instructed.
Observe and promptly report signs of skin breakdown, physical/emotional changes, complaints, or grievances.
**Safety and Infection Control**
Maintain a safe, clean environment; ensure equipment is clean and functional and report malfunctions promptly.
Follow safe lifting/transfer procedures and infectioncontrol guidelines, including proper handwashing and universal precautions.
Report hazardous conditions or equipment issues immediately to nursing staff.
**Clinical Support Tasks**
Collect and properly label laboratory specimens as directed.
Review care plans daily and deliver care accordingly.
Follow restraint and isolation procedures as ordered by a physician.
Promote and support the highest possible level of resident independence.
Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy at all times.
**Team and Facility Responsibilities**
Understand and follow all facility clinical policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Report concerns or issues to the Unit Nurse or Director of Nursing.
May be required to take periodic oncall shifts.
Responsible for the safety, personal care, and wellbeing of assigned residents.
