Role Description The Athletic Trainer is a full-time, on-site role based in Knoxville, TN, supporting orthopedic physicians and patients through evidence-based sports medicine and injury management. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing athletic and orthopedic injuries, implementing injury prevention programs, and providing rehabilitative care under the direction of medical providers. The role involves designing and monitoring strength and conditioning programs, educating patients and community partners on safe training practices, and documenting clinical encounters in accordance with clinic protocols. The Athletic Trainer collaborates closely with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care, ensure continuity of treatment, and promote safe return-to-activity for patients of varying ages and activity levels.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Athletic Training and Injury Prevention for diverse patient and athlete populations.
- Proficiency in Rehabilitation and Prevention strategies to support recovery and reduce risk of re-injury.
- Experience with Strength & Conditioning programming to enhance performance while maintaining safety.
- Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (BOC) and eligibility or licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Tennessee.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field from an accredited program.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary clinical setting.
- Ability to work on-site, adapt to fast-paced orthopedic clinic environments, and support occasional evening or weekend coverage as needed.
- Prior experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, or outpatient clinical settings is preferred.
