Responsibilities
As a Patient Care Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and play an important role in creating a welcoming experience. Responsibilities include:
- Answering and directing incoming phone calls professionally and courteously
- Greeting patients and checking them in and out for appointments
- Scheduling and confirming appointments
- Managing the daily provider schedule and making adjustments as needed
- Scanning and organizing patient records and documents into electronic charts
- Verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information
- Collecting co-pays, balances, and processing patient payments
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Responding to patient questions and assisting with general office needs
- Coordinating with clinical staff and referring offices to ensure a smooth patient experience
- Performing other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Dependable, punctual, and a team player
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using computers and learning practice management software
- Previous medical or dental front office experience is preferred but not required
- Prior experience with verifying health/dental benefits is a plus
