The Office of the Chief Engrossing Clerk for the Tennessee House of Representatives is seeking to fill a full-time, on-site Legislative Assistant position for the 2026 session of the Tennessee General Assembly. This is a seasonal role running through May 2026 and requires the ability to work extended hours during peak periods of the legislative session.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Screening, routing, and tracking incoming calls and requests
- Preparing, formatting, and organizing legislative documents
- Copying, filing, document management, and quality-control review
- Providing general administrative support to the engrossing staff
- Assisting with special projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong technical competency (Microsoft Office, document formatting, and digital file management)
- Excellent attention to detail and reliability under time-sensitive conditions
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and discretion
