Job Title: Mechatronics Instructor
Location: Tennessee College of Applied Technology, Memphis-Bartlett Extension Campus
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Memphis, is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and student-centered Mechatronics Instructor to join our instructional team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to technical education, workforce development, and advancing student learning in a hands-on training environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized and classroom instruction to students in all areas of mechatronics, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems.
- Develop, plan, and implement instructional activities aligned with the TCAT Mechatronics curriculum and Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) standards.
- Maintain industry-relevant equipment, labs, and safety practices.
- Evaluate student performance, maintain accurate attendance and progress records, and support student completion and placement outcomes.
- Collaborate with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and graduate employability.
- Participate in institutional activities including recruitment, professional development, advisory committee meetings, and accreditation processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or Associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of recent industry experience in mechatronics, automation, robotics, or related manufacturing systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, PLC programming, and industrial controls.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a postsecondary teaching credential as required by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and the Tennessee Board of Regents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience teaching or training in a technical college or industry setting.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Siemens, FANUC, Rockwell, NC3, or similar).
- Experience integrating emerging technologies and industry 4.0 concepts.

Full-Time, 12-Month Faculty Position
Salary:
Commensurate with education and experience according to the guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
