Location: 165 Charcoal Lane, Pall Mall, TN 38577
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $13.00–$15.00 per hour (based on experience)
About the Position
Tennessee Charcoal is seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join our Kiln Crew. This position is responsible for preparing, loading, operating, and cleaning charcoal kilns throughout the production process. Team members play a vital role in producing high-quality charcoal while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
No prior experience in the charcoal industry is required. We provide paid, on-the-job training for motivated individuals who are eager to learn.
Responsibilities
- Clean completed charcoal kilns after each production cycle.
- Remove charcoal, ash, and other materials from kilns.
- Prepare kilns for the next burn cycle.
- Load wood into kilns according to company procedures.
- Close and seal kilns to begin the next charcoal burn cycle.
- Operate a skid steer safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with other production-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- No experience required—training provided.
- Must be able to safely operate a skid steer.
- Must be dependable with excellent attendance.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical labor.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb, push, and pull throughout the workday.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in dusty, hot, and outdoor environments.
