Roane State Community College is seeking qualified applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Communications at Scott, Campbell, and Anderson Counties.
Job Duties
- Teach speech communications courses at the Campbell, Scott, and Anderson County sites.
- Teach speech communications courses for Middle College and Dual Enrollment programs.
- Serve on departmental and college-wide committees as assigned.
- Advise students and hold office hours.
- Provide service to the college through active involvement in the academic festival, convocation, division and program meetings, and other assigned events.
- Teach 15 course hours per semester and schedule a minimum of 15 office hours per week.
- The ability to teach during the Summer or Winter Term may or may not be offered.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through action-research projects, grant development, or conference participation.
- Respond promptly to requests from the Dean’s office.
- Collaborate with faculty, curriculum chair, and academic leadership about curricular and programmatic issues and needs.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and techniques including the use of technology.
- Travel to multiple campuses as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Communications, Oratory or Speech or master’s degree plus 18 graduate hours in Communications, Oratory or Speech
- At least three years of successful teaching experience at the community college level.
- Teaching experience with alternative delivery methods such as online, interactive, synchronous, and hybrid.
