About The Role
Tenneco is seeking a driven and self-motivated Human Resources Intern to join our team at our Angola, Indiana manufacturing facility. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable HR experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting key people-focused initiatives.
As an HR Intern, you will work closely with the Senior HR Generalist and broader HR team to support daily operations, employee engagement, and talent-related activities. You will also work directly with hourly employees on the plant floor, gaining a deeper understanding of manufacturing operations, employee relations, and workforce engagement.

About The Role

- Support daily Human Resources operations and special projects as assigned
- Assist with onboarding activities for hourly employees, including orientation preparation and documentation
- Participate in employee engagement initiatives, events, and team-building activities
- Provide administrative support such as filing, data entry, answering phones, and maintaining employee records
- Assist with scheduling candidate interviews and supporting career fair activities
- Help create, organize, and distribute employee badges and related materials
- Complete stay interview processes and assist with tracking and organizing related data
- Collaborate with HR team members to support a positive employee experience
- Assist with preparing presentations, reports, and HR communications
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- In college at an accredited university pursuing a degree in HR or related.
- Basic knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices through coursework or prior experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with employees, candidates, and team members
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks and data entry
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to learn
- Ability to support employee engagement activities, onboarding tasks, and event coordination
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively

- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday
- Ability to use a computer, keyboard, telephone, and other standard office equipment regularly
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move office materials up to 15 pounds
- Ability to move between office, meeting, and production areas as needed
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through email
- Ability to maintain attention to detail while performing administrative and data-entry tasks
- Ability to support employee events and activities that may require extended standing or movement
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and responsibilities
