Machine Technician/Operator - Mechanical Skills required

Newly hired production employees may be responsible for setting up, repairing, operating and supplying equipment to assemble & inspect ignition products and components in our Burlington, Iowa facility. The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential to your success at Tenneco.

Candidates will be available for all shifts including a weekend shift. Mandatory overtime is required. Candidates must have a high school diploma/GED are required. Manufacturing or mechanical related experience or two years of post-high school technical education is preferred. A pre-employment physical and drug-screen are required. Please do not call the local Tenneco – Champion Ignition facility.

Wages:

There is a 6-month progression for wages. For all newly hired associates the wage rate will follow a progression schedule as follows:

0 – 6 months: 90% of top wage for the job

After 6 months: 100%

Top rate for the Machine Operator / Machine Technician position: Approximately $23.50

Additionally, those assigned to 2nd shift or 3rd shift are eligible for a $0.65/hour shift premium.
