We’re seeking a hands‑on technician who thrives on challenging diagnostics and meticulous rebuilds of Tennant industrial equipment.
Your impact
- Execute complete teardown and reassembly of complex machines using sound judgment.
- Diagnose and repair electro‑mechanical, hydraulic, and powertrain systems including batteries and air/water‑cooled engines (diesel/gas/LP).
- Run in‑process quality checks to hit quality and cost targets on every machine.
- Support the reconditioning process end‑to‑end while learning via self‑study, on‑the‑job practice, and Shop Supervisor coaching.
- Protect and maintain company tools/equipment; uphold a professional image.
- Keep work areas to 5S standards; document and communicate safety concerns.
- Spot and report continuous improvement opportunities through our tiered system.
- Flex between multiple sub‑assemblies and shorter cycle main line stations.
- Show up on time, every time, with reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 3 years troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mobile equipment with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment; strong familiarity with mechanical and electrical assembly practices.
- Continuous improvement mindset; manufacturing background preferred.
Physical & work conditions
- Lift routinely up to 40 lbs (typical 2–20 lbs); occasionally up to 90 lbs with assistance over 60 lbs.
- Frequent posture changes: sitting, standing, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling.
- Daily bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting (up to 30%).
- Regular proximity to moving mechanical parts; moderate noise; occasional heat and non‑toxic fumes.
- Possible contact with oil, grease, gasoline, dust, metal particles, and sharp materials.
Safety gear
- Safety glasses, steel‑toed footwear, and hearing protection are mandatory.
Compliance
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
