Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Protocol Officer role located in Springfield VA. The Protocol Officer will coordinate and execute official events, meetings, ceremonies, and visits, ensuring proper protocol, decorum, and representation of the organization. Responsibilities include planning and managing event logistics, preparing briefing materials, coordinating guest lists and seating arrangements, and liaising with internal teams and external partners. The role also involves providing guidance on protocol standards, supporting training on protocol procedures, and maintaining accurate records and documentation for events and official engagements. The Protocol Officer will work closely with leadership to ensure all engagements align with organizational objectives and policies.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated expertise in protocol, including knowledge of official customs, courtesies, and procedures for government and VIP engagements.
- Experience in event management and event planning, including coordinating logistics, timelines, venues, and support services.
- Training skills, including the ability to develop and deliver protocol-related guidance and briefings to staff and leadership.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Chantilly, VA, and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with government or defense sector operations and protocols is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
