Who We Are
Job Summary
Position will work on an as needed basis to cover abscences of full time techs.
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures ordered by a physician to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. Positions and instructs the patient for Nuclear Medicine examinations, adjusts the imaging equipment, determines proper dosage and desired exposure time for each image following the proper guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures ordered by a physician to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures
- Consults with Physician for all IV contrast exams
- Warms x-ray machine following standard protocols and checks for any malfunctions and notifies supervisor
- Cleans aprons, cassettes and general area
- Assesses and familiarizes patient with procedure
- Verifies physician orders
- Utilizing proper exposure factors performs radiographic exam following established protocols
- Checks patient history for allergic and previous contrast media studies
- Using sterile technique fills syringes with contrast media for injection
- Ensures that emergency drugs and code cart are immediately available
- Respects patient privacy by keeping x-ray door closed except to move patient in and out of room
- Ensures that emergency drugs and code cart are immediately available
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine
- NMTCB/CNMT Certification or ARRT in Nuclear Medicine Certification required
- EMR/EHR experience preferred, NextGen or Athena experience preferred
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required
