Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical activity, and social-emotional skills
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies
- Communicate regularly with parents to share progress, address concerns, and foster strong home-school connections
- Support children’s development through hands-on activities focused on childhood development principles and early intervention strategies
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of student progress and incidents
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons, organize classroom materials, and enhance overall program quality
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or daycare environments
- Knowledge of curriculum development, classroom management, and behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and childhood development instruction
- Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications in childhood welfare or mandated reporting laws are a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
- Experience teaching physical education or implementing standardized testing is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of young learners across different developmental stages
