Duties
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients’ functional abilities and needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on improving daily living activities (ADLs), mobility, and sensory integration
- Assist families with discharge planning by coordinating care transitions and ensuring continuity of services
- Support clients with autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and disabilities through targeted interventions
- Collaborate with speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and medical professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Document clinical progress accurately
- Educate patients and their families on therapy goals, adaptive techniques, and strategies for ongoing support at home or school
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across various settings such as inpatient care, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health environments
- Hands-on experience in pediatric occupational therapy including early intervention programs and school-based services
- Demonstrated ability to implement occupational therapy programs tailored to clients’ unique needs—especially those with neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorder
- Experience working with students with disabilities or special education needs within educational settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice methodologies to ensure high-quality patient care and treatment plan development
