Position Summary
The Home Health Aide (HHA) provides personal care and support services to patients in their homes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on promoting patient comfort, safety, and dignity while assisting with activities of daily living and implementing the patient’s Plan of Care.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises.
- Monitor and report any changes in the patient’s physical or emotional condition to the supervising RN.
- Assist with light housekeeping and maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy home environment.
- Help patients with meals, nutrition, and fluid intake as directed.
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
- Document care provided and observations accurately and promptly.
- Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and in-service education (minimum of 12 hours per year).
Qualifications
Required:
- Current California Home Health Aide (HHA) certification
- Minimum 6 months experience in home health, hospital, or nursing home setting
- Reliable transportation, valid Driver’s License, and proof of auto insurance
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and mobility
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and staff
Preferred:
- CNA experience
- Knowledge of home health documentation and procedures
Required Credentials (must remain current):
- Proof of ACTIVE CERTIFIED HOME HEALTH AIDE
- Driver’s License & Auto Insurance
- TB Test / Chest X-Ray
- Physical Exam
- CPR Certification
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
