MIDWIFE POSITION — CNM | CPM | CM Full-Time | Part-Time | Locum Tenens
Compensation: $80,000 – $100,000 per year (dependent on experience, full-time)
About Us
Tender Gifts Birth & Wellness Center has been offering exceptional birth services in Fort Collins, Colorado and surrounding areas for over 10 years, with a second location now open in Grand Junction, CO. We are a conservative, faith-based medical practice attending homebirths and birth center births. We have expanded into a wellness center that also includes Family Nurse Practitioner services, ultrasounds, nutritional IV's, and more. Our culture is people-, detail-, and team-oriented, grounded in both medical excellence and faith.
Position Summary
We are currently seeking a qualified midwife — CNM, CPM, or CM — for our community birth center. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who can professionally represent the Birth Center in community and hospital settings, and is committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based care for women and families. This is an in-person, on-call position with both part-time and full-time opportunities available.
Eligible Credentials
- Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) — Advanced Practice RN with graduate midwifery education
- Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) — NARM-certified midwife with out-of-hospital birth expertise
- Certified Midwife (CM) — AMCB-certified midwife with graduate midwifery education
Candidates must hold current, valid certification and be eligible for or currently licensed to practice in Colorado. Scope of practice and specific responsibilities may vary by credential type in accordance with Colorado law.
Essential Responsibilities
- Experience in an out-of-hospital birth environment encompassing physiologic birth (preferred but not required)
- Working knowledge of Colorado laws and regulations governing midwives and birth centers, applicable to your credential
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to professionally represent the Birth Center in community and hospital settings
- Commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care for women and families
- Vision for community projects; self-directed with the ability to guide Birth Center team members toward optimal outcomes
- Basic obstetric and gynecologic skills appropriate to credential and scope of practice
- Openness to and basic knowledge of alternative and holistic modalities of care and providers
Additional Job Responsibilities
- Maintain quality, optimal patient care
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Provide care promoting age- and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making, and the right to self-determination
- Participate in clinic and on-call coverage performing antepartum, intrapartum, birth, postpartum, newborn, well-woman care, and problem-focused visits as the schedule permits
- Attend staff meetings, training, and education sessions as required or directed by the Colorado Regulatory Agency and Governing Body
Education & Experience Requirements
CNM: Master's degree (required); active or ability to obtain Colorado APRN/CNM licensure; Colorado Prescriptive Authority; active RN, BLS, and NRP certifications
CPM: Current NARM CPM certification; active or ability to obtain Colorado LM (Licensed Midwife) license; BLS certification; NRP certification preferred
CM: Master's degree or equivalent (required); current AMCB CM certification; active or ability to obtain applicable Colorado licensure; BLS and NRP certifications
All candidates must have experience or demonstrated competency in Labor & Delivery, Ob/Gyn, and Women's Health.
