Business Unit What the Role Entails About the Team Tencent Video AI Center focuses on building next-generation AI-native technologies for professional content production. Our research spans computer vision, computer graphics, neural rendering, generative AI, image and video generation, 3D generation, and multi-modal foundation models. As an interdisciplinary team working closely with video, animation, and game studios, we develop core technologies that redefine how visual content is created—from AI-assisted cinematography and lighting, to controllable video generation and 3D digital asset creation. We are looking for exceptional research scientists with strong expertise in 3D representations, graphics pipelines, neural rendering, or generative models. This role bridges the world of foundation models and the rigorous requirements of high-end visual production. Responsibilities Conduct cutting-edge research in neural rendering, generative graphics, image/video generation, and 3D generation. Prototype and develop novel generative AI methods that integrate 3D understanding, rendering, and multi-modal control. Translate research advancements into scalable systems and bring them into production in collaboration with content studios. Work closely with engineers and designers to design model architectures, evaluate generative and rendering quality, and iterate toward production-ready solutions. Deliver high-quality research documentation, internal presentations, and publications in top-tier conferences. Who We Look For Qualifications Master’s or Ph.D. degree in computer graphics, computer vision, generative AI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with enthusiasm and initiative toward new developments in graphics and generative AI. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and take ownership of research projects. Excellent spoken and written communication skills. First-author publications at SIGGRAPH, CVPR, TPAMI, or other top-tier graphics and vision conferences and journals are preferred. Location State(s) US-New York State-New York The expected base pay range for this position in the location(s) listed above is $122,500.00 to $229,700.00 per year. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Employees hired for this position may be eligible for a sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Subject to the terms and conditions of the plans in effect, hired applicants are also eligible for medical, dental, vision, life and disability benefits, and participation in the Company’s 401(k) plan. The Employee is also eligible for up to 15 to 25 days of vacation per year (depending on the employee’s tenure), up to 13 days of holidays throughout the calendar year, and up to 10 days of paid sick leave per year.
