Summary
The Project Manager oversees a variety of commercial construction projects, from tenant buildouts to ground up projects ranging anywhere from $50K to more than $20M. The Project Manager is instrumental in successfully executing on time and on budget, and delivering high quality commercial construction projects through their organizational abilities, communication skills, problem-solving prowess and practical construction knowledge. This is a vital contributor to a high-performing team within a rapidly growing organization.
Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee project delivery from start to finish, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Effectively manage project communication, including submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), project reports, and schedule distribution.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal teams.
- Negotiate and prepare letters of intent and contracts for vendors and subcontractors.
- Apply best practices in project management to ensure high-quality execution.
- Develop and manage project budgets, estimates, and bids as needed.
- Foster strong working relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring that issues are resolved amicably and effectively.
- Create and manage project schedules, coordinating all aspects of the timeline to avoid delays.
Ideal Qualifications and Skills :
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or related field
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in construction project management.
- Proficiency in construction methodologies and project management processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Results-oriented with a keen ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to manage project scope, budgets, and schedules while ensuring the highest quality standards.
- Self-starter mentality with the drive to take ownership of projects and see them through to successful completion.
- Familiarity with project management software such as Procore, Smartsheet, and Excel is preferred but not required.
- Experience with design-build projects is a plus, but not mandatory.
