SITE LEADER-ACADEMIC COORDINATOR

J OB SUMMARY
The Site Leader-Academic Coordinator ACE is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations, instruction, and student experience at a Tenacity program site. This role oversees staff and volunteers, manages student recruitment and engagement, and ensures high-quality implementation of Tenacity’s academic, tennis, and youth development programming.
The Site Leader-Academic Coordinator ACE builds strong partnerships with students, families, schools, and community stakeholders to support student success and long-term engagement. This position also leads classroom instruction, supports student behavioral and social-emotional needs, oversees data collection and program evaluation, and contributes to broader organizational initiatives and strategic growth efforts. This person will be able to create curriculum that is engaging, objective-driven, and prioritizes student growth and development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Site & Program Management
- Supervise ACE staff, volunteers, and part-time staff to ensure effective program implementation and student support
- Conduct mid-year and end-of-year staff evaluations
- Lead staff meetings to support communication, collaboration, and program effectiveness
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with school administrators, faculty, and community partners
- Oversee implementation of Tenacity’s tennis and literacy curricula
Student Recruitment, Enrollment & Data Management
- Lead recruitment, selection , and enrollment of middle school students into the ACE Academy
- Maintain accurate student enrollment and engagement records in Tenacity’s data management system
Instructional Leadership & Student Support
- Supervise the classroom and overall instructional experience for students
- Develop and submit lesson plans aligned with instructional goals and assessment data
- Facilitate whole-group and small-group instruction based on student needs
- Manage student behavior and provide individualized support when necessary
- Support students experiencing behavioral, social-emotional, and academic challenges
- Integrate academic instruction with tennis and fitness programming, emphasizing life skills development
Family & School Partnerships
- Build strong relationships with school principals, teachers, families, and community partners to support student success
- Partner with the Family Engagement Coordinator to maintain consistent family communication, outreach, and in-person visits
- Participate in school meetings related to partnerships, program operations, and student needs
Program Development & Organizational Support
- Assist with strategic growth initiatives, including expansion within existing schools and development of new school partnerships
- Support summer programming and preparation for the upcoming ACE program year
- Contribute to broader organizational efforts, including fundraising, administrative support, instruction, and funder visits
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required . A focus in education, human services, social work, or a related field is a plus. Master's degree a plus .
- Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin a plus
- Commitment to equity and supporting students in overcoming systemic barriers
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Experience leading multicultural teams in urban settings
- Skilled in relationship-building with students, families, school staff, and service providers
- Experience delivering curriculum in classroom or youth development settings
- Ability to foster an engaging and inclusive program culture
- Public speaking and presentation skills
- B ilingual Spanish or Mandarin skills
- Some t ennis experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary Range: $ 5 8 ,000-$ 68 ,000 annually (based on experience)
