We are looking for a Senior Research Associate to join the R&D Solid Tumor Pod to support the development of new tests and processes for deployment in our clinical lab. Working under the mentorship of Lead Scientists, this role involves developing and executing experiments using advanced molecular techniques. What You’ll Do: Under the guidance of senior scientific staff, support the development of cutting-edge molecular assays for our high-throughput CAP/ CLIA/ NYSDOH accredited clinical lab Design and execute molecular protocols with a high degree of precision and attention to detail Support multidisciplinary teams through the generation of datasets used to build new assay features and analysis algorithms. Generate detailed documentation of experimental execution Assist in the troubleshooting and quality control initiatives Assist with development of automated processes Identify and implement improvements to existing processes Travel within US 1-3 times per year Qualifications: A Master’s degree with at least two years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of experience in a molecular laboratory. Highly organized and systematic, superb attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy Strong analytical and conceptual capabilities, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate with clarity. Proven ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to new processes smoothly Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a dynamic environment with competing projects and deadlines. Interprets results and uses these data, along with literature precedent and input from subject matter experts, to modify experimental plans accordingly. Hands-on experience with any of the following molecular methods is highly desired: NGS library preparation methods PCR methods such as: PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, ddPCR Sanger Sequencing MLPA Nucleic acid ligations Nucleic acid analysis such as: quantitation by absorbance/fluorescence, gel & capillary electrophoresis Magnetic bead-based DNA/RNA purification and size selection DNA hybridization arrays Highly Desirable: Experience with Next Generation Sequencing Experience with robotics and automated liquid handling systems Experience in clinical laboratory Knowledge of LIMS platforms and various computer systems CHI: $60,000-$80,000 The expected salary range above is applicable if the role is performed from Illinois and may vary for other locations (California, Colorado, New York). Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
