Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Assistant Personal Care Assistants to provide high-quality support to individuals in various care settings, including home, community, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, monitor patient health, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for those in their care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, persons with disabilities, or those experiencing memory loss or developmental disabilities.
Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines
- Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions to report any changes promptly
- Support patients with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or memory care needs through specialized care techniques
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning in accordance with care plans
- Maintain cleanliness of the living environment through light cleaning duties
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to transfer residents requiring heavy lifting assistance
- Document patient observations accurately and update care plans as needed
- Support patients during social activities and promote engagement to enhance well-being
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures to ensure resident safety at all times
Requirements
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation, monitoring vital signs, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care is desirable
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus; willingness to obtain these certifications if not already certified
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with transfers using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations including seniors and persons with disabilities
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and dignified care
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; patience and adaptability are essential qualities for success in this role
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.50 - $23.00 per hour
