2nd Shift Forklift Operators - COLD STORAGE

Tempstar Staffing has several 2nd shift stand-up forklift operating positions available starting Monday 4/20/26!! $22.00/hr to start.

We are seeking experienced and motivated 2nd Shift Forklift Operators specializing in Cold Storage environments to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling materials in a temperature-controlled setting, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse management skills, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to operational excellence. Duties

• Operate various types of forklifts, including reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to load, unload, and transport goods within cold storage facilities.
• Perform order picking using equipment such as pickers and other warehouse management system tools to fulfill customer orders accurately.
• Manage shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to ensure safe operation; escalate mechanical issues promptly.
• Maintain proper materials handling procedures in compliance with OSHA standards to promote a safe working environment.
• Assist with inventory management tasks such as cycle counting, stock rotation, and updating warehouse management systems.
• Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing storage areas and ensuring efficient space utilization.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
• Execute heavy lifting tasks safely, utilizing appropriate equipment like pallet jacks or clamp trucks for bulky or heavy items.
• Ensure all activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies related to heavy equipment operation.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating forklifts including reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks in a cold storage or warehouse environment.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking procedures.
• Prior experience in warehouse supervision or team leadership is preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order fulfillment processes.
• Physical capability for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and working in cold temperatures.
• Valid forklift operator certification is highly desirable.
