Summary: At Tempo Mechanical, Junior HVAC Designers work with construction plans delivered by our clients. This position will involve the entire design process including, but not limited to, Plan review, Manual J load Calculations, AutoCAD drawings, permits set, and site plans. Junior HVAC designers will also be responsible for providing equipment selection and sizing. They will be working closely with both Senior and Lead Designers to ensure training needs are met. All new draws will be reviewed by the Senior and/or Lead Designer. They will also need to support technical data for commissioning and certification of Energy Star homes. Base plans and other production work are the heavy focus for this position.
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to handle high workloads with a diverse client base
- Excellent AutoCAD skills (3 to 5 years experience)
- Knowledge of residential construction practices
- Knowledge of residential energy and mechanical codes (IECC & IMC)
- High level of personal responsibility, accuracy, and organization Knowledge in Excel, Word, and Access
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Wrightsoft software for performing Manual J8 (Load) calculations with the inclusion of current specification (builder and code specific)
- Design working drawings of HVAC layouts derived from Manual J load calculations
- Commissioning of completed projects
- Process projects for permitting
- Assist Foreman and Warehouse Manager with design questions and revisions
