This position oversees all aspects of development — including individual giving, corporate and foundation relations, grants, sponsorships, and special events — and manages the Development Associate and related staff or contractors.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, strong relationship builder, and hands-on fundraiser who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute TCCDC’s annual fundraising plan with clear goals for revenue growth and donor engagement.
  • Manage and track fundraising progress toward annual goals (currently $1.2M in combined grants, sponsorships, and donations).
  • Supervise and mentor the Development Associate and oversee contractors (grant writers, designers, etc.).
  • Prepare development reports and dashboards for the CEO, Board of Directors, and Advisory Board.

Donor & Corporate Relations

  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a personal portfolio of major donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners with a strong focus on expanding and deepening the individual donor base to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to grow individual giving, enhance donor retention, and build a robust pipeline for major and planned gifts.
  • Partner closely with the CEO to engage Board and Advisory Board members in prospect identification, cultivation, and stewardship efforts that advance organizational fundraising goals.
  • Expand and strengthen corporate and foundation partnerships that align with TCCDC’s mission and strategic priorities, including community engagement initiatives and corporate social responsibility opportunities.
  • Oversee donor recognition, acknowledgment, and relationship management strategies that foster a culture of gratitude, transparency, and continued investment in TCCDC’s mission.

Grants & Institutional Funding

  • Oversee all foundation and corporate grant efforts, ensuring a steady pipeline of new opportunities.
  • Supervise proposal development, budgeting, and compliance reporting in collaboration with program and finance staff.
  • Maintain grant calendar and ensure all deadlines are met.

Campaigns, Events & Marketing

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for key fundraising events, including the Empowering Lives Dinner and Partner Celebration.
  • Promote volunteer and engagement opportunities at EBC to showcase student success and community impact.
  • Oversee all fundraising campaigns such as Giving Tuesday, Fund-A-Day, and annual appeals.
  • Work closely with EBC’s leadership and staff to align school-based campaigns with TCCDC’s overall mission and brand.
  • Support the Fund-A-Day Campaign, Christmas Celebration for Students, and Day of Thanks events at EBC Academy.
  • Collaborate with communications staff to produce engaging donor materials, annual report, newsletters, and social media storytelling.

Collaboration & Culture

  • Work closely with the CEO, Program Director, and Coordinators to ensure alignment between fundraising goals and program impact.
  • Participate in community events, networking opportunities, and public speaking engagements representing TCCDC.
  • Uphold TCCDC’s values of faith, family, and empowerment in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive fundraising experience, including individual, corporate, and foundation giving.
  • Proven success in managing a donor portfolio and meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Effective negotiation skills for partnerships, sponsorships, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience with donor databases (Salesforce preferred).
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort using AI tools for writing, research, and data analysis.
  • Strategic, analytical, and highly organized.
  • Collaborative leadership style and ability to thrive in a mission-driven, community-centered environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred (or equivalent experience).
