Temple Solel, a warm and engaged Reform Jewish congregation in Bowie, Maryland, seeks a highly organized, service-oriented professional to serve as our On-Site Facilities Coordinator / Office Manager.  This role is central to the daily life of the synagogue—ensuring smooth operations of our facility, supporting congregational programs and lifecycle events, and providing front-office coordination that keeps our community running effectively and warmly.

 

Key Responsibilities

Facilities & Operations

  • Oversee daily facility readiness, safety, and maintenance
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, and service providers
  • Manage facility rentals and ensure compliance with policies
  • Support event logistics, including coordination and setup
  • Maintain records of contracts, insurance, and compliance requirements

Office Administration

  • Serve as the primary point of contact (phone, email, in-person)
  • Manage the Temple calendar and assist leadership with scheduling
  • Oversee procurement, inventory, and office supplies

Membership & Communications

  • Maintain membership database and generate reports
  • Coordinate bulk mailings and communications
  • Prepare Yahrzeit notifications and assist with High Holy Day logistics

Financial Processing Support

  • Process incoming payments, checks, and invoices
  • Prepare bank deposits and coded documentation for bookkeeping
  • Support payroll submission and vendor coordination

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in office management, facilities coordination, or nonprofit administration
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks
  • Experience with databases and financial processing preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Salary : $30,000 - $35,000
