Overview
Temple Israel of Boston seeks a detail-oriented, collaborative, and organized interim Operations Manager to support Temple administration and ongoing special projects during a parental leave period. The person in this interim role will help execute some ongoing projects and support the Executive Director during this time of transition. This is a temporary, part-time position focused on organization, special projects and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Extensively manage the Executive Director's schedule including scheduling meetings with Temple Israel staff, members, and vendors
- Support all staff meetings including proper set up of the meeting onsite
- Support the preparation of materials for Board of Trustees, Leadership, and Committee meetings; setting agendas for all staff, administrative, and interdepartmental meetings
- Work effectively and efficiently, independently, and collaboratively, all as part of a diverse team within a larger administrative team
- Specialize in planning, organizing, managing, and executing projects
- Experience with documentation and process mapping
- Support the use of event management system - eSpace solutions
- Possess an eagle eye for details, strong organizational and analytical skills, and an interest in the organization’s big-picture agenda
- Possess a positive, “can-do” attitude and outstanding interpersonal skills, and experience dealing with individuals at all levels of an organization
- Manage credit card reconciliation for monthly charges and Executive Directors credit card
- Time permitting special projects including: reviewing and organizing special fund files and assistance with our green burial process
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills with keen attention to detail
- Comfort managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Google Suite
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and professionalism when interacting with clergy, staff, and community members
- Experience in event coordination or program support is preferred
- Familiarity with Jewish life, holidays, and synagogue culture is a plus
Schedule & Compensation
- Full or part-time, temporary position
- Some evenings and occasional weekends required
- Compensation: $30/hour
