About The Role
The operations manager serves as the central coordinator for building operations, maintenance oversight, security protocols, rentals, and event logistics. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and maintenance across both TBZ campuses, ensuring facilities are safe, functional, and prepared for all programs and services.
- Manage maintenance staff, vendor relationships, and building contractors; coordinate repairs, capital projects, and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain building security systems, emergency procedures, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate logistics for Shabbat, High Holy Days, lifecycle events, community programs, museum events, and rentals.
- Manage facility rental inquiries, contracts, payments, and event support for outside groups.
- Maintain the master calendar of events, programs, and space usage; ensure smooth coordination across departments.
- Support AV, livestreaming, and basic technology needs in partnership with vendors.
- Oversee administrative workflows related to operations, including supplies, equipment, and recordkeeping.
- Foster a collaborative, respectful workplace culture aligned with TBZ’s values.
- 3-5 years of experience in operations, facilities management, office administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Experience supervising staff and managing vendor relationships.
- Comfort with technology, Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Teams conferencing, and willingness to learn synagogue management platforms (e.g., ShulCloud).
- Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays aligned with the Jewish calendar.
- Familiarity with Jewish communal life or willingness to learn; alignment with Reform Jewish values of inclusivity and respect.
