What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Communications Manager position at Temple Beth Shalom?
Temple Beth Shalom (TBS) seeks a hands-on, social media savvy, creative and execution-driven professional with experience in a full range of marketing/communication roles to join our team and shape the public face of Santa Fe’s oldest and largest Reform synagogue among our stakeholders and the general public.
This hybrid, part-time position, which includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits and PTO, is for up to 30 hours per week with 1-2 days in office, and reports to TBS’s Executive Director. We work in partnership with other Jewish and interfaith organizations to create meaningful accessible experiences for learning, prayer, social justice and celebration.
Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Develop marketing content, with appropriate messaging and design, to support TBS’s programmatic and fundraising activities
· Create online connectivity and community with our members
· Support TBS fundraising and stewardship activities by creating online appeals
· Provide a strong voice for communication through the organization by building messaging standards and protocols
· Identify and leverage marketing and communications to engage non-affiliated people in Jewish life about TBS
· In partnership with the Executive Director, originate ideas for online and offline programs that enhance participation and continually build membership
Specific Job Duties
· Create and manage TBS’s Social Media platforms and monitor analytics
· Manage TBS’s website – responsible for design and update content
· Coordinate and connect with Santa Fe and Jewish Media to develop relationships with journalists and garner coverage for events
· Support Executive Director, Rabbi, Volunteer leadership and Program Staff with messaging, scheduling and communications strategy
· Manage email campaigns and segmentation outreach
· Maintain consistent branding
· Write/compile/design weekly congregant emails and emails supporting events
· Online temple Bulletin: Write, design and edit articles, work with volunteer writers (currently 3- 4 x per year)
· Support Development campaigns and stewardship as needed
Qualifications and Experience
· 3 years’ experience in marketing communications OR degree (Minimum BA) in marketing or communications
· Demonstrated ability to solve problems and innovate solutions
· Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences (Writing samples will be requested)
· Careful attention to detail, including grammar and visual presentation
· Track record of working both independently and within a team setting
· Ability to take initiative and also to accept direction
· Able to prioritize, create schedules and meet tight deadlines
· Understanding of a commitment to the mission and vision of Temple Beth Shalom
· Experience taking photographs and manipulating images
Compensation range; $65,000-$75,000 annual equivalent
