Substitute Teachers Needed
Substitute qualifications:
High School Diploma and Early Childhood experience necessary.
$18 per hour - starting wage
1. Attendance at work during all agreed-upon hours
2. Set up and maintain a child-centered classroom environment
4. Follow the plans that have been created, that enhance the mission and the goals of the program, as well as the Judaic content of the curriculum.
5. Encourage the growth of positive identity, self-esteem and self-discipline in the children they teach.
6. Ensure that the children in their care are well supervised at all times, consistent with the New Mexico licensing requirements and Accreditation standards.
7. Communicate with the staff and families of the children in their care
8. Maintain confidentiality concerning the children, families, staff and school related matters.
9. Satisfy all requirements of the New Mexico licensing agency and the accrediting body
11. Perform COVID Safe cleaning practices as per Guidelines of the DOH and as in Staff Handbook.
12. Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
13. Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
14. Follow Preschool policies and Temple policies.
15. Prioritize the safety and well-being of all children at the preschool.

5. Properly notify Director and Assistant of availability

The hours for this position vary, as they are on an occasional basis. Substitute teachers must be responsive to electronic communication in a timely manner, as our teachers will reach out to them for confirmation of coverage. Our preschool teachers require coverage for illness, vacation, or other last-minute occurrences. In this case, teachers will reach out to the substitutes on our list to determine coverage availability. Substitutes may work up to 40 hours a week if needed, but can also go weeks without working any hours. Potential candidates need to be flexible to a fluctuating schedule.
