Job Title: Roofing Permit Coordinator
Location: Florida
Salary: Starting at $60,000 annually
Position Overview:
Tempest Roofing is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Roofing Permit Coordinator to manage the permitting process for residential and commercial roofing projects across Florida. This individual will ensure compliance with all local regulations and serve as the liaison between contractors, municipalities, and inspectors. In addition to permitting, this role supports project operations by managing material and dumpster orders as directed by the Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Permit Management:
- Prepare and submit permit applications to local municipalities.
- Track application statuses and ensure timely permit approvals.
- Ensure all permits meet applicable building codes and regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local building codes and zoning laws.
- Verify that all roofing projects are in full compliance with relevant standards.
- Stakeholder Coordination:
- Act as the primary point of contact for city officials, contractors, inspectors, and homeowners.
- Schedule inspections and coordinate with relevant departments as needed.
- Administrative Support:
- Accurately complete and organize permit documentation.
- Maintain thorough records of permit activity, inspection results, and related communications.
- Manage permit fee calculations and ensure proper collection and documentation.
- Customer Service:
- Respond to inquiries from contractors and homeowners regarding the permitting process.
- Provide clear, professional support and resolution to any permitting issues.
- Project Support:
- Coordinate ordering of roofing materials and dumpsters per Project Manager directives.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project schedules.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Previous experience in permitting, construction, or a customer service-related role.
- Roofing or construction industry knowledge preferred.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education or relevant certifications a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Comfortable using computer systems and software for data entry, tracking, and recordkeeping.
