Middle School Assistant Baseball Coach – Winter 2025/2026
Tempe Preparatory Academy
Tempe Preparatory Academy is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Middle School Assistant Baseball Coach to lead our team for the Winter 2025/2026 season. We are looking for a coach who is passionate about teaching the fundamentals of baseball, encouraging sportsmanship, and building a positive, team-first culture for young student-athletes.

Position Details
- Department: Athletics
- Reports to: Athletic Director
- Supervises: Students
- Season: Winter 2025 (Nov–Jan)
Candidate Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior baseball coaching or instructional experience preferred but not required
- Knowledge of baseball rules, techniques, and game strategy
- Ability to engage and motivate junior high students
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Passion for youth development and foundational skill-building
Required Certifications (to be completed within 2 weeks of hire)
- NFHS Coaching Certification (Fundamentals and Level 1 Cert)
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
- NFHS Concussion Training
- NFHS Heat Illness Prevention
- Valid DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card with IVP#
- Completion of school-provided training for student transportation (white buses) before the season begins
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead baseball practices focused on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Teach and reinforce core techniques
- Create a supportive environment where players feel encouraged to learn and grow
- Communicate effectively with athletes and parents regarding schedules, expectations, and performance
- Supervise student-athletes during practices and matches, ensuring safety and appropriate conduct
- Coordinate team participation in league matches and tournaments in accordance with school and league policies
