Responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading drywall materials using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or carts.
- Safely load drywall onto delivery vehicles, ensuring secure placement to prevent damage during transit.
- Deliver drywall products to commercial and residential locations, adhering strictly to route schedules and traffic regulations.
- Support the driver in navigating routes efficiently while maintaining a professional and courteous attitude towards customers.
- Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy or bulky drywall sheets, minimizing risk of injury.
- Help with warehouse operations by organizing materials, preparing deliveries, and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Communicate effectively using mobile devices for route updates or delivery confirmations, ensuring accurate documentation of each delivery.
Skills
- Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is highly desirable.
- Experience in commercial driving, particularly with box trucks or van drivers, is preferred.
- Strong manual handling skills with knowledge of safe lifting practices for heavy materials.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and moving carts safely.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or delivery driving is a plus.
- Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and adherence to traffic laws during route driving.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with clients.
- Ability to work physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting and moving materials regularly.
