Junior Varsity Cheer Coach
Job Description:
Position is responsible for coaching student athletes in strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic events, motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport, and supporting the Head Varsity Cheer Coach with all assigned duties.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).

In-depth knowledge and experience in sport.

Previous coaching experience in sport preferred.

Ability to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid card.
Duties:
-
Receives clearance from Athletic Department/district office before interacting with student athletes.

Assesses players’ skills and assigns team positions.

Works with the Head Varsity Coach in scheduling facilities for practices and competition in a timely manner.

Attends all scheduled practices, games, events, as developed by Head Varsity Coach/Advisor to provide both individual and team development.

Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.

Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior and provides proper supervision of athletes at all times.

Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.

Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.

Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.

Participates in special activities to include parent nights, banquets, award nights, cheer camps, and assemblies.

Maintains eligibility forms, emergency data cards, equipment inventory, and other related records.

Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal of Activities, Head Varsity Coach or other appropriate administrator.
