Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards.
- Manage patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for accurate medical documentation and scheduling.
- Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as needed.
- Support pediatric dentistry practices by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
- Maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they are sterilized and ready for use.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to manage appointments and patient flow efficiently.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, with exposure to general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical coding/documentation is essential.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure.
- Experience with 3D scanning technology is advantageous but not required.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with patients of all ages.
