The Operations Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily operations at a Temco Logistics PRO site supporting multiple lines of business. The Operations Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily operations at a Temco Logistics PRO site supporting multiple lines of business. This role plays a critical leadership function in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery operations while supporting frontline teams, operational execution, and customer service across multiple delivery models.
This position requires a strong field‑based leadership presence and experience operating in regulated transportation and distribution environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in managing daily operations across DFS, MDO, and FDC functions to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable service execution.
- Provide hands‑on leadership to professional drivers and operational teams across yard, warehouse, office, and on‑road environments.
- Support routing, dispatch, and delivery execution across multiple operating models in alignment with service expectations and operational requirements.
- Reinforce DOT, safety, and company compliance standards across all lines of business.
- Maintain visibility during load‑out, dispatch, and field operations to support driver accountability and operational readiness.
- Lead and support driver onboarding, training, performance management, and corrective action processes in partnership with HR and Safety teams.
- Assist in resolving operational issues, delivery exceptions, service escalations, and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners including Safety, Training, HR, Recruiting, and Operational Excellence to ensure alignment and continuity.
- Support administrative oversight including scheduling, payroll coordination, equipment accountability, and operational readiness activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, service quality, employee experience, and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience in transportation or distribution leadership.
- Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or distribution operations, preferably within a multi‑line or regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading professional or CDL driver teams, including coaching, performance management, and accountability.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations, safety compliance, and transportation best practices.
- Experience supporting yard operations, load‑out activities, and on‑road execution.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to engage and support frontline teams in both field and office environments.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to adapt and lead effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑line‑of‑business (DFS, MDO, FDC) environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and operational or compliance‑related systems.
