Summary of Position :
The Structured Cabling Project Coordinator supports the successful execution of small, medium, and large scale structured cabling projects across commercial and government environments. This role works closely with Structured Cabling Project Managers, field technicians, and general construction teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with customer and industry standards. The ideal candidate brings 5 years of hands on structured cabling experience and thrives in a fast paced, independently driven environment.
Essential Functions :
Assist Structured Cabling Project Managers with planning, scheduling, and coordinating all phases of structured cabling projects and build outs. Serve as a liaison between the structured cabling team and general construction contractors, including attending on site and virtual coordination meetings. Support day to day project operations, including material tracking, documentation updates, change order coordination, and project status reporting. Work independently alongside field technicians to ensure installation quality, adherence to specifications, and compliance with TIA/EIA, NEC, and customer standards. Coordinate site access, logistics, and resource allocation for commercial and government accounts. Maintain accurate project documentation, including as builts, test results, labeling records, and close out packages. Monitor project progress, identify risks or delays, and escalate issues to Project Managers as needed. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel :
- Full Time/40 Hours per Week/ less than 10% travel
Required Qualifications :
- Minimum 3 years of experience in structured cabling installation, coordination, or project support.
- Strong working knowledge of BICSI-compliant copper and fiber cabling systems, pathways, spaces, and industry standards.
- Experience collaborating with vendor managers, general contractors, construction managers, and multi disciplinary trades.
- Ability to work independently while supporting multiple simultaneous projects.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills.
- Proficiency with project documentation tools, Microsoft Office, Visio, and basic project management principles and workflows.
- Familiarity with reading construction drawings, floor plans, and cabling schematics.
- Understanding of permitting, safety requirements, and construction sequencing.
- Ability to travel as needed to support active project sites.
