This position will be based at a customer site in Reston Virginia with telework/remote options.

Responsibilities:

You will work with our client as they build and accredit their CSP and associated services. You will work hand and hand with our client as they navigate the assessment and accreditation phases for their product. You will work to develop items needed for the accreditation packages while consulting with our client on security and compliance best practices.

In performing this role, you will be required to:

• Lead and manage the Authorization to Operate (ATO) process for government systems through the NIST 800-53 Risk Management Framework.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for compliance requirements performing tasks such as:
  • Translate compliance requirements to actionable items for engineering teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and lead discussions with stakeholders and team leads on compliance requirements to facilitate necessary product updates and changes.
  • Review and update items such as the boundary diagrams, data flows, and interconnections. Then offer any updates or revisions as needed to meet compliance requirements.
• Provide expert consultative support on cloud security architecture, design patterns, and security control implementation.
• Perform security assessment and authorization activities, including documentation development and maintenance
• Serve as a subject matter expert for both compliance requirements and technical cloud security solutions
• Interface with government security teams during security assessments and authorization reviews
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and guidelines.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Assurance, or a related discipline and has at least 7 or more years of experience in an Information Security Management Role. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
• Comprehensive understanding of NIST 800-53 Risk Management Framework and the ATO process is required
• Experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP is required.
• Experience with Governance Risk and Compliance tools such as Xacta, eMass, etc. is required.
• Familiarity with cloud architecture and service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• A strong understanding of container-based deployments, architectures, and related compliance challenges.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings accurately.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse and distributed team.
• Experience and comfort with customer-facing roles and delivering presentations to stakeholders
