Responsibilities:
The Assistant Facility Security Officer (A/FSO) supports the administration and execution of the company's industrial security program, ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations, customer requirements, and company policies. Working under general supervision, this position assists in managing classified programs, personnel security, document control, and physical security while serving as a liaison with government agencies, customers, and internal stakeholders. The A/FSO applies established security principles and regulations to resolve moderately complex security issues and supports the Facility Security Officer in maintaining an effective security program.
- Assist in administering the company's industrial security program in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM), ----- Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Energy (DOE), and other applicable government security requirements.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and practices for the protection of classified information, controlled unclassified information (CUI), proprietary information, and company assets.
- Administer and maintain Closed Areas, Restricted Areas, and other controlled spaces, ensuring compliance with applicable physical security requirements.
- Process and maintain personnel security clearances, visit authorizations, and access eligibility using applicable government security systems.
- Maintain security databases, document accountability records, and access control records to ensure accurate and current security documentation.
- Conduct security self-inspections, physical security surveys, and threat/vulnerability assessments, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing for and supporting government security inspections, audits, and assessments, including coordination with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) or other government representatives.
- Prepare security reports, documentation, standard operating procedures, and other records required to support regulatory compliance.
- Conduct security briefings, annual refresher training, debriefings, and security awareness activities for employees and subcontractors.
- Investigate security incidents or violations, document findings, and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
- Monitor personnel security investigation status, reinvestigation requirements, and clearance eligibility, providing timely notifications to employees and management.
- Coordinate with government customers, internal program personnel, and external agencies on security-related matters.
- Support COMSEC activities and accountability procedures in accordance with applicable regulations, as assigned.
- Stay current on federal security regulations and assist with implementing policy updates affecting company operations.
- Provide light front desk coverage as needed by greeting visitors, assisting with visitor check-in procedures, issuing visitor badges, answering general inquiries, and directing visitors in accordance with established security procedures.
- Escort vendors, contractors, and authorized visitors throughout secure facilities, ensuring compliance with company security policies and maintaining appropriate access control at all times.
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned.
