Position Overview
Seeking a dependable and skilled Articulating Equipment (Ventrac) Operator to join our grounds maintenance team. This position focuses on operating an articulating mower (Ventrac) and supporting grounds maintenance operations while maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and finish quality. We are looking for an operator who can work independently, make sound field decisions, and take pride in delivering professional results.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform mowing, material handling, and site maintenance operations
- Change and install equipment implements as required
- Conduct daily machine inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Follow job plans, route sheets, and daily schedules
- Maintain finish quality standards and professional site appearance
- Assist crew members with physical labor when needed
- Safely operate truck and trailer combinations including:
- Hooking up
- Driving
- Backing
- Maneuvering
- Securing loads
- Final appearance inspections
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a federal background check – no felonies for the past 10 Years
- Must have a valid “REAL ID” Driver’s License or Passport
Applicants should be able to confidently answer YES to most of the following:
- Articulating equipment experience
- Minimum 2 years equipment operation experience
- Experience with mowing techniques, patterns, and finish quality
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Strong time management and sound decision-making skills
- Ability to take direction and apply reasoning in the field
- Experience following job plans and schedules
- Strong communication with supervisors, clients, and team members
- Understanding of personal and equipment capability limits
- Willingness to perform physical labor when required
- Truck and trailer experience
- Ability to work safely in heat, cold, rain, and changing conditions
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Positive attitude and professional work ethic
- Ability to read ground conditions, soil moisture, and turf health
Preferred Qualifications
(Helpful but not required)
- Experience operating compact loaders or skid steers
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance and fluid checks
- Experience working independently on remote job sites
- Experience working around finished landscapes, hardscapes, or residential properties
- Comfortable communicating delays, issues, or equipment concerns promptly
- Ability to adapt to seasonal work demands and changing priorities
