Human Service Clinician

Position Summary
The Human Services Clinician is responsible for the clinical services provided to clients of the program and is expected to provide clients with clinical, and supportive social services designed to overcome AODA, mental health, family, personal, health, and other functional problems. The Human Services Clinician develops and implements the clinical focus of our mission to manage, motivate and follow through with client treatment planning and clinical services. This position will be responsible for individual, group, and other appropriate clinical services within the need of the program and the scope of their training.

Essential Functions
- Interview clients to assess whether they meet the criteria for program services, review records, and confer with other professionals to evaluate community services for appropriate referrals.
- Collaborate with community providers to plan or coordinate services that meet client needs.
- Counsel clients with mental illness to assist them in dealing with mental illness, Substance abuse, unemployment, and obtaining housing.
- Assist clients in adhering to service plans, such as setting up appointments, arranging for transportation to appointments, and providing support.
- Refer client to community resources to assist in recovery from mental illness, following through to ensure service efficacy.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document client progress with respect to client service goals.
- Modify service plans according to changes in client status.
- Assist Program Supervisor in directing other workers who provide services to clients.
- Enters data for reporting purposes, and generates reports as required, for example: the Client Daily Progress Report.
- Increase social work knowledge relating to mental illness, homelessness, by reviewing current literature, conducting social research, or attending seminars, training workshops, or classes.
Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree in Health/Social Services OR LCSQ, LPC, or Marriage and Family Therapist combined with credentialing as a Substance Abuse Counselor or Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor or Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor experience
- Two years or more related experience
- Valid Driver's License required
