Position Summary

A Speech-language pathologist (SLP) provides cutting-edge subspecialized care. Depending on the area of specialty, clinicians work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. The SLP will also mentor/supervise our in-house SLPAs. 


Essential Functions

Responsibilities

  • Assessment and Diagnosis:
  • Administration and interpretation of formalized and informal assessments, as well as procedure-based evaluations to evaluate a patient's speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities to identify specific disorders. 
  • Treatment Planning:
  • Create individualized treatment plans tailored to a patient's specific needs and goals. 
  • Therapeutic Intervention:
  • Implement various techniques and exercises to help patients improve their communication skills, strengthen swallowing muscles, and enhance overall function. 
  • Provide speech and language therapy to patients and/or students in both individual and group settings.
  • Patient and Family Education:
  • Provide clear and supportive counseling to patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and strategies for managing disorders. 
  • Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient evaluations, treatment progress, and outcomes to ensure continuity of care and for billing purposes. 
  • Collaboration:
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with other healthcare professionals, teachers, parents/caregivers, school administrators, and other therapists to provide comprehensive patient care. 
  • Attend meetings and provide reports on student progress in school settings.
  • Progress Monitoring:
  • Regularly evaluate patient progress to adjust treatment plans and strategies as needed to ensure optimal outcomes. 


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Valid California State License in Speech-Language Pathology— must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Current ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) 
  • Equivalent to two (2) years of experience providing patient-based services. (preferred)
  • Completion of ASHA supervision requirements — must be maintained throughout employment.


Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Talents

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of speech, fluency, language, voice, cognitive, hearing, and social communication disorders, with the ability to accurately evaluate, diagnose, and provide evidence-based treatment across diverse patient populations.
  • Skill in developing and implementing individualized care plans that address patient-specific needs, adapt to progress, and support long-term communication and cognitive outcomes.
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team to achieve quality outcomes, while ensuring precise, timely documentation that meets all professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge and ability to provide preceptorship to graduate students, fostering clinical skill development and professional growth in alignment with the company’s educational mission.


Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear
  • Sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds

Salary

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
