Position DescriptionElectromechanical / Compliance Technician

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and documentation of advanced products that integrate electronic, mechanical, laser optical, and software-controlled systems. Secondarily, this role will support the compliance manager with verification and testing of products based on regulatory standards.
REPORTS TO: Deputy R&D Manager
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Position Qualifications: Associate degree in electrical, electronic, mechanical engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. Requires strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Must be computer literate and able to use laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and similar instruments. Must be able to read and interpret electronic, electrical, and mechanical drawings. Requires the intelligence and motor skills necessary to perform detailed assembly tasks without assistance.

FUNCTIONS:
1. Assembles and tests prototype circuit boards, cables, equipment, and machinery.
2. Sets up and tests prototype equipment and machinery.
3. Supports the development, procurement, installation, and calibration of equipment required to test products and machinery.
4. Tests and documents for various regulatory requirements such as EMC, electrical safety, etc.
5. Analyzes and interprets test data and prepares reports.
6. Assists in evaluating technical content for manuals, assembly and installation drawings, and bills of materials for products under development or redesign.
7. Works with groups outside the department to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and implement ECNs.
