Safeguard Foreman - Fire Alarm, Access Control, Gates, Intrusion Detection

Position Summary

The Low Voltage Foreman at Safeguard is responsible for supervising field crews on the installation of fire alarm systems, access control, automatic gates, and intrusion detection systems. This leadership role ensures that projects are delivered safely on time, within labor budgets, and to the highest standards of quality and performance. The Foreman serves as the key field liaison between technicians, project managers, and general contractors.

Key Responsibilities

**Leadership and Oversight**

• Supervise and lead daily operations of field installation teams on active job sites.
• Assign daily tasks, oversee crew productivity, and maintain efficient labor use.
• Train and mentor field technicians to enhance performance and technical skills.
  
  

**Labor and Budget Control**

• Monitor and manage labor hours to ensure alignment with budgeted projections.
• Proactively track labor usage against estimates and adjust scheduling as needed.
• Alert project managers in advance of any potential labor overruns or delays.
  
  

**Project Execution**

• Review project scopes, drawings, and schedules to plan installations.
• Coordinate and complete installations for:
• - **Fire Alarm Systems:** Addressable and conventional panels, detectors, strobes, pull stations, and NAC circuits.
• **Access Control:** Card readers, maglocks, door strikes, control panels, and power supplies.
• **Automatic Gates:** Gate operators, safety loops, access devices, and integration with security systems.

• - **Intrusion Detection Systems:** Motion detectors, door/window contacts, control panels, and central station connectivity.
• Oversee system testing, inspection, and final commissioning.
• Conduct project walkthroughs and ensure timely punch list completion.
  
  

**Quality and Documentation**

• Implement and maintain Safeguards quality control standards across all scopes.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, redlines, as-builts, and labor logs.
• Ensure systems are installed per code, drawings, and manufacturer specifications.
  
  

**Communication and Coordination**

• Serve as on-site liaison between the field team, project management, and general contractors.
• Attend kickoff and progress meetings with stakeholders.
• Coordinate material deliveries and interface with other trades on-site.
• Provide regular job status updates, labor tracking, and notify of change order requirements.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in low-voltage installation, specifically in fire alarm, access control, gates, or intrusion systems.
• At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or crew lead role preferred.
• Technical knowledge of NFPA code, wiring standards, system configuration, and device installation.

Work Conditions

• Work on active construction sites and occasionally in occupied facilities.
• Requires ability to climb ladders, lift equipment, and work in various environmental conditions.
• Travel to job sites is required; typical coverage within a 300-mile radius.
• Per diem is provided for qualifying travel assignments.
