What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Production Counsel position at Telepictures Production Inc?
The Daily:
- Responsible for all legal matters for the new daily syndicated show “True Crime News".
- Provide journalistic oversight and legal advice on content issues including, but not limited to, defamation, rights of privacy and publicity, standards and practices, copyright, and fair use.
- Negotiate and draft production agreements including releases, talent agreements, and brand partnership or sponsorship agreements.
- Responsible for pre-broadcast review and clearance of all show content.Provide general production legal support during all phases of development, production, marketing, and distribution of the show and related podcast, website, social media and other media outlets.
- Interact with studio and network executives, executive producers, producers, and other production executives.Work closely with the host, reporters and research staff.
- Develop and maintain editorial standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Will report to Head of Warner Bros. Television Unscripted Legal.
The Essentials:
- JD Required.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of practicing law within a newsroom or at a national law firm, a major firm or television studio, or major online service or platform.
- Must have knowledge of related law and legal environment of broadcast news, a news reporting organization, or in the entertainment industry sufficient to draft and negotiate legal documents and counsel management on legal implications of their actions.
- Knowledge of First Amendment protections and limitations specifically relating to individuals accused of and found guilty of committing both recent and/or prior crimes (both misdemeanors and felonies) preferred.
- Hybrid position (3 days in office).
- Must be able to analyze, draft and negotiate contracts.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with producers and reporters to mitigate risk.
- Must be able to research legal questions and communicate responses effectively and in a timely manner to all levels of corporate and production staff.
- Must be able to write in a well-organized and concise manner.
- Must be able to supervise staff.
- Ability to work independently and proactively with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to simultaneously manage numerous projects in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment.
Pay Range: $150,000.00 - $220,000.00 salary per year.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance.
