Role Description The Computer Aided Design (CAD) Drafter is a full-time, on-site role based in El Segundo, CA. This role is responsible for preparing, revising, and maintaining detailed technical drawings and plans for telecommunications, low-voltage, and security system installations. Day-to-day tasks include creating engineering and architectural drawings from project specifications, field notes, and markups; ensuring that all CAD files follow company standards; and coordinating drawing updates with project managers, engineers, and field personnel. The CAD Drafter will review plans for accuracy and completeness, incorporate redlines and as-built information, and assist in preparing drawing sets for submittals, permits, and installation teams. This role may also support document management, drawing archiving, and the continuous improvement of drafting templates and workflows.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Technical Drawing and Engineering Drawings for telecommunications, security, and structured cabling projects.
- Ability to produce clear and accurate Drawing and Architectural Drawings aligned with project and code requirements.
- Experience interpreting engineering specifications, blueprints, and field sketches, and translating them into detailed CAD documents.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple drawing packages and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with project managers, engineers, and field teams in a construction environment.
- Prior experience in low-voltage, electrical, or building systems drafting is preferred; municipal or educational sector experience is a plus.
- Relevant technical education or certification in drafting, CAD, engineering technology, or a related field is beneficial.
