Job Description
Job Summary:
The Quality Technician will ensure incoming parts and assemblies meet quality standards. They will conduct outgoing quality inspections to ensure systems and detection instruments operate per established procedures (routers, build procedures, control plans, etc.). This position is responsible for working with quality, engineering and production personnel to develop and resolve testing activities.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect and test in-process and completed products and or sub-assemblies according to quality and safety standards
- Develop and maintain quality documentation and inspection reports
- Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production personnel to resolve quality-related issues
- Perform incoming inspection and/or testing on vendor-supplied parts
- Evaluate and process non-conforming material
- Ensure quality related tool calibrations/maintenance are on schedule and records maintained in accordance with procedures
- Update quality-related databases, spreadsheets, etc.
- Assist other departments as needed.
Job Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience building, inspecting, and /or testing electronic assemblies preferred
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Proven experience working with surface-mount components, printed circuit boards from engineering drawings, cable assemblies and harnesses from engineering drawings, vacuum lines and tubing, complex electro-mechanical instruments preferred
- Able to use measurement/inspection tools (calipers, multi-meters, micrometers, microscopes, etc.)
- Ability to read electrical schematics and assembly drawings
- Comfortable and knowledgeable with computers and software, including Microsoft Office Suite
- MRP software experience beneficial, SAP experience a plus
- Prior experience working in ISO-9001 or AS-9100 quality management system preferred
- Able to work independently with little supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
