Special Systems Project Manager
As one of Nevada’s largest independently-owned technology companies, Teledata Technologies, based in Las Vegas, is seeking a Special Systems Project Manager to join our growing team. For nearly 25 years, we have delivered advanced technology solutions to commercial, healthcare, and educational clients throughout Nevada.
We specialize in the design and installation of integrated technology systems including structured cabling, access control, CCTV, fire alarm, and audio/visual solutions. Our team works directly with clients, general contractors, and electrical contractors to deliver high-quality, fully operational systems that meet demanding project requirements.
Job Overview
The Special Systems Project Manager is responsible for overseeing low voltage and special systems projects from contract award through final completion and billing. This role manages project scheduling, materials, manpower, and client coordination while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate has both technical knowledge of special systems installation and strong project management capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial low voltage and special systems projects from contract award through closeout
- Coordinate with clients, general contractors, electrical contractors, and internal teams
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
- Procure materials and manage vendor relationships
- Track project progress, labor, and material costs
- Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and drawings
- Conduct project meetings and maintain communication with stakeholders
- Provide daily or weekly reports to upper management
- Ensure projects comply with NEC, BICSI, and local installation codes
- Support field technicians and ensure proper installation standards are met
- Take projects from contract issuance through final billing
Systems Experience Preferred
Experience managing or installing commercial systems such as:
- Voice/Data structured cabling
- Fiber optic infrastructure
- CCTV / surveillance systems
- Card access / security systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Nurse call systems
- Audio/Visual systems
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience managing commercial low voltage or special systems projects
- Knowledge of CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic systems
- Understanding of NEC and BICSI installation standards
- Familiarity with basic conduit applications
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong computer proficiency including:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Project
- Bluebeam
- D-Tools (preferred)
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Exceptional organization and time management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with customers, coworkers, and trade professionals
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- OSHA 30 Certification (required or ability to obtain within 14 days)
- Valid Nevada Driver’s License
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Ability to occasionally work overtime as project needs require
